4 Unusual Easter Gifts

It’s that time again – when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus by eating twice our own body weight in chocolate. The giving and receiving of chocolate Easter eggs has been a tradition for more than 100 years. So this year, why not forget the tradition and rather than an egg, give your loved ones an unusual Easter gift?

Don’t know what to get them? Here are four ideas to give you some inspiration:

  1. An (Easter) bunny

If the recipient of your gift is looking into getting a pet, or have already mentioned they would love a rabbit, then why not bring the Easter bunny to life?

You may also want to include a few accessories, so their new pet has a home, and access to food and water straight away.

Every year 33,000 rabbits are handed into rescues centres, so you could make the present extra special by rehoming an unwanted rabbit.

It is important to be sure that the person you are giving the gift to is in a position to have a pet and does really want one right now. Remember, a rabbit is for life, not just for Easter!

  1. An Easter-themed gift

Websites such as notonthehighstreet.com have a great selection of alternative and quirky Easter themed gifts. The gift you are giving will depend very much on who it is for – you wouldn’t give the same gift to your parent as you would to your young son, for example. But here you will find a variety of unique gifts suitable for any age or gender. For mum, how about a rabbit planter complete with her favourite plant, for your sister or bestie you could get a personalised bunny necklace and earrings and for the little ones in your life there is a Bunny Rabbit fancy dress. Men? Well, they might like some Hot Cross Bun Gin!

 A magazine subscription

Easter is typically the time that we have a spring clean – taking the opportunity to clear out the clutter, thoroughly clean our homes and perhaps we might also do a little maintenance – redecorating and reordering our space. So, why not give magazines direct subscription gifts this Easter?

A subscription gift really is one that keeps on giving right through the year – providing monthly gossip, sport news, lifestyle advice or decorating tips.

Why not choose one of the House and Home titles to provide the recipient of your gift with handy hints and tips to help them with the spring cleaning process? Or a lifestyle and fashion title that they can read during their break from all the cleaning.

  1. An Easter experience

You could give your loved one a treat this Easter by taking them for a day out. This could be a spring themed afternoon tea – complete with Easter-inspired pastries, chocolate eggs and nests, shortbread chicks, all washed down with a bottle of bubbly. Then you could take a trip to the farm to see the rabbits, or completely forget about bunnies and take a trip to the zoo to see some larger, more exotic animals.

If you are feeling extra generous, why not whisk them away for a long weekend – you have four days, after all!
