A Snowy Winter Morning

I woke up today to our little village being covered in a dusting of white. We’d had a few flakes yesterday evening and at 2am when P2 woke asking for her usual milk, which was refused, I saw out of the window the glow of the snow in the dark. I was so excited for morning to come but by the time it did I was feeling like death warmed up. I have yet another cold. I’m aching, I’m hot then cold, I’m snotty, my head feels like it’s about to explode from pressure of being bunged up.

When the girls all woke up I spent a while on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. Refusing to move for every tiny demand. Wanting to be back in bed with hubby and hide from the day in my duvet. Then I realised that this snow wouldn’t be here for long and there’s something so magical about it that I just had to get outside, washed or not. So that’s what I did. We got the girls dressed and hubby up al before 9am to venture out in the frosty weather. It was so lovely to see P3s little face as she explored the unknown to her, to hear P2s little giggles as she threw snow at her sister and to watch P1 rebuild her beloved “Snowy” the snowman, who had a relook and is now “Snowy the Snow Dog”.

Apologies for the rather photo heavy post today, I wouldn’t be a blogger if I didn’t take the opportunity to get my big camera out and snap some lovely bright photos. Cheers snow for giving me perfect lightening on a usually gloomy winter.

Have you had some snow? Do you love it or hate it?
