#BLOGMAS Day 1 – The Christmas Tag

I’m not sure if I’m being too ambitious this year with attempting to do both vlogmas on YouTube and Blogmas here on my blog. I’m going to give it my best shot anyway and see how we go this December.

So the first post for my blogmas is going to be the Christmas tag. A great place to start I think. Tomorrow will be all about what advent calendars we have this year so do pop back tomorrow. Here goes:

What is your favourite Christmas film?

My all time favourite Christmas film has definitely got to be Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer – The Movie, this is from 1998 and is my childhood film. It’s the first thing I think about when I try to remember Christmas films.

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

According to Google in last snowed in 2010 on Christmas Day. I’m not sure I actually remember having a white Christmas though so it can’t have been too special…

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

Growing up we always had Christmas at my Mum’s house. Since moving to Kent I haven’t actually spent a Christmas Day with my Mum and tend to have a fake Christmas a week or so before the actual day.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

Sorry but I think it might be “All I Want For Christmas” by Mariah Carey.

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

I never used to but have started a little tradition for the girls with a little Christmas Eve hamper to open on the evening of Christmas Eve. Hubby and I then tend to open our presents Christmas together after putting out the girls on Christmas Eve. This year I don’t think I will as the girls kept asking us where our presents were.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Cupid, Comet, Vixon, Donnar, Blitzen, Rudoplh. The joys of having a film based about the reindeer as your favourite Christmas film.

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

We don’t really have a tradition at the moment, but now we have a new home we can buy our first big tree, we’ve bought a cute plate set for Santa and we can create some new traditions.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

It’s fake. As much as real trees look so pretty, I honestly think they are a waste of money and a waste of a tree.

What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?

Warmed mince pies with cold custard. Hubby will cringe but I just love them!!

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I hate receiving gifts. I get super embarrassed. I love planning gifts for my kids but for anybody else it just stresses me completely.

What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

Hmmm… from my childhood, probably receiving my first ever computer with the Sims games. For my younger self that was the best present ever. Then I became a Mum on Christmas Eve so that was a pretty good gift.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I reckon everybody says Lapland or something Christmas related. But I think I’d love to spend Christmas in Canada with Hubby’s Auntie. That would be a real white Christmas of dreams.

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I fail miserably. We buy the cheapest paper from poundland and never add pretty tags or bows.

Most memorable Holiday moment?

Having Santa visit our house. That was pretty awesome!

Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I make goals rather than resolutions. I don’t tend to achieve them though but I feel it’s a little less disheartening when you break a resolution.

What makes the holidays special for you?

The whole magic of it all. The family vibe and all the excitement. It’s over so quickly though!

So there you go. Don’t forget to subscribe to me over on YouTube to follow my Vlogmas journey this Christmas.
