Chocolate & Chia Seeds Overnight Oats Recipe

I don’t own a full length mirror. I’m not tall enough to see into our bathroom one and so I put up with a hand held one for my makeup in a poorly lit hall way. That’s how I dress myself each morning, relying on a quick glimpse in a shop window to double check I actually look half decent and respectable. You can imagine my horror when opening up my Dropbox app to find a full length photo of myself butt naked drying my hair staring back at me the other morning. Cheers hubby!

I was disgusted and ashamed. I felt sad. Any confidence I thought I had, which was slim anyway, instantly vanished as I looked at the woman in that photo. It was me. But not how I want me to look like. It was like a stranger. I didn’t look gorgeous which I how I picture myself every time hubby pays a compliment and tells me I’m sexy, which is every day. Looking at that photo shocked me but it was exactly what I needed.

For a long time I have known I need to lose some extra pounds and tone up. But the reality of it is that I love my food and I have a huge appetite which I blamed mostly on the mirena coil I had fitted nearly 18 months ago. Seeing the naked photo of myself has really given me the boot up the backside I’ve needed and has also made me realise how important a full length mirror is!

So I’ve dusted off my neglected Fitness App and started recording my food intake each day again. I’ve set my goal and I am focusing on that. I have been doing so incredibly well this week and I have even started making my own special breakfasts and I wanted to share one of the recipes with you which I actually put together myself.

I have really enjoyed having a different breakfast this past week and even watching my calories has been quite fun. We didn’t have a car for the majority of it so my exercise and steps were increased dramatically which meant I could eat more to balance it out. I have already seen a lovely change, I am less bloated and generally feel less hungry actually which shocked me. I still don’t think I’m on a weight loss journey but definitely a toning up one so I am exercising using a different app.

I don’t expect results and knowing me it’ll all fizzle out again and I’ll be reaching for the biscuit tin. But I generally want to feel happy about my naked body and feel more confident in my own skin.
