I set up my blog to be literally be somewhere to express my feelings. But I could just do that with a pen and piece of paper. The truth is – I like attention. I live my life online and I love it that way.
Maybe I wrote too personally. Maybe I don’t write personal enough. At the end of the day, I write when I feel I need to.
When people comment I get really excited. It means I’m reaching someone, somewhere out there enough for them to take the time to communicate with me.
I’m frequently looking at my stats. When I became self hosted I was gutted that I wouldn’t see new followers anymore.
But at the same time, I want my blog to give me opportunities that I wouldn’t get if I wasn’t writing. The attention of it too.
Even the daily prompt is a way of getting a bigger audience! I’ve recently begun reviewing for companies too which naturally get more views. I even entered a competition using my blog.
But beneath all that, I do write mainly as my diary. I don’t want my blog to become a site full of advertising or products. I want to be able to look back on my life in words, in years to come! It’s going to be fantastic and for my girls to read too.
