P1 started her new school today. I had the alarm set for 6:30 but didn’t manage to actually get out of bed until 7. It took about half an hour to walk 1.6miles – exactly what good old Google said.I left P2 at home with hubby and P1 was allowed to use the pushchair. I know that so many people who passed me were probably judging me but quite frankly she couldn’t walk 1.6miles, she could barely walk the 0.2miles we had for the past four months!!! That means I’m walking 6.4miles a day and 16miles a week just on school runs.
The walking made me realise just how much of a change this is going to be. I’m exhausted!! Literally feel like my legs are made of jelly but at the same time they are really heavy. It’s the first day of not having my car and I’m already missing it dreadfully. I wish there was a way that £500 would just magically appear in my bank account so we could keep my pretty fiesta and school runs could become a breeze again.
P1 came out of school with a huge smile on her face. She’d actually eaten the majority of her lunch (she’d left a few carrot sticks and some grapes) and she seems so content. She has not stopped talking about her day and she’s very excited to be going back tomorrow. In a way it made the walk and the pain and the tiredness worth it!
I’m dreading tomorrow’s walk and the next day and… P1s education is what’s important! Please sponsor my Bliss Charity 5k Buggy Push in June 2014 here
