Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise Doll Review

When it comes to girls toys, specifically dolls, I have seen many different versions and we actually have a huge toy box just for dolls. However, we received the new Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise Doll and it’s nothing like I’ve ever seen before.

In the box there is the Lalaloopsy Baby called Jewel Sparkles, a potty, a bowl with spoon and three colours of magic food. Jewel Sparkles is wearing a cute little bib and a pretty nappy. Her head, arms and legs are all moveable too. She has the signature Lalaloopsy eyes which look like buttons. The Lalaloopsy Baby can be fed and then poops a surprise for you.

The part that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before and completely fascinated me was the food part. I was of course jubious of the whole thing if I’m honest. My experience of feedable pooping babies seems to have always involved a bit of mess. The baby food in this set is actually mouldable sand (think crazy and sand put together) and is so simple to get the Lalaloopsy Baby to poop.

I spent a good half an hour or so playing with this doll all by myself one evening before I gave it to the girls the next day. To make the baby poop you twist the turner on the back of the baby to one of the four positions. These will create four different surprise shapes. You then pat the food into the spoon, I’ve found using a patted level amount to be just perfect.

You then pop the spoon into her mouth and turn it. Giving it a quick shake. Then turn the belly button to the right and hold it there for a few seconds. Then you take the nappy off Jewel Sparkles and place her into the potty. There’s a heart at the front of the potty that when you rock her forwards and backwards a few times, will trigger the poop release and out comes the potty surprise.

It’s genius. What’s better is that it actually works how it should and doesn’t make any mess as the sand moulds into shapes and sticks together. It isn’t like normal play sand. The doll is suitable for ages 4+ but both P2 and P3, who are under this age group, absolutely adore the Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise Doll. They’ve had so much fun learning to feed  the baby and get really excited to see what surprise shape they’ve created next.

This Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprises costs £30 and would make a wonderful present for a little child.
