To my Princess 3,
You have been in the world and in our lives for 8 months now. In the scheme of things that’s such a short amount of time but it doesn’t feel that way. It feels like you’ve always been a part of our lives.
Admittedly, we haven’t had you weighed in quite a long time by a professional but I just weighed you on our bathroom scales, clothes and all, and you are just over 15lbs. We really must get you professionally done though.
You are without a doubt a Mummy’s girl. If you can see me then it is only me you want. You hate being held by other people including your Dad if I am in your sight or ear shot. I love that we have such a close bond but it gets quite tiring having you attached to me nearly every second of the day.
You are a determined little one. You are beginning to make your way around the room. You’ve been rocking yourself back and forward from a sitting position for a few weeks now but this week you are somehow managing to move yourself slightly. You are able to use your arms to spin around in a circle on your front and also slide your body backwards. You get quite frustrated though so I’m sure it’s not going to be too long before you are able to involve yourself with your big sisters games and also be attached to me leg even more!
Your laugh is silent. We’ve heard a full blown giggle with noise about 4 times in 8 months. P2 was the first 3 times you giggled and Daddy once. You’re happy though. Always smiling and when you do “laugh” it sounds like breathing heavily even slightly snort like. It’s really hard to explain.
You have only just gone into size 6-9month clothes and we had to buy them second hand as for some reason we were missing that size from your sister. You now wear proper grown up clothes every day and only a onesie at night if the weather is a little cooler.
For the past week you have been sleeping so much better. For a long time you’ve been going to bed at 7pm with your sisters, you stir a few times and need more milk or to be resettled between 7-10:30pm but then we don’t hear a peep from you usually until 5am. I can’t say I feel better for all the sleep you’ve been giving me as P2 still wakes occasionally but I do have hope that maybe you are following your biggest sisters sleep pattern.
I think next month there is going to be exciting development and independence changes for you and I’m getting so excited to see you grow!
Love Mummy x
