A #MomsDayOffContest With Crocs

I spend every second of my day doing something child related. I also nearly always have our youngest attached to my leg, hip or holding my hand because she’s a definite Mummy’s girl at the moment. To find time for myself I used to go to a fitness class but motivation for that has disappeared and so it’s become a very rare occasion that I get time by myself.

Crocs recently asked me to take a day for myself. To drop the towel and go on my own little adventure without children it tow. I could do anything, absolutely anything. This task alone was a difficult one. I visioned myself sitting lonely in a cinema or having a lonely hot chocolate in a cafe. But I had a whole day to be me and I wasn’t going to waste that or turn down the excuse to. So off I trotted for some retail therapy because everyone knows women love shopping.

I woke up this morning feeling excited. I took time with my makeup and put on what I hoped was a pretty dress to compliment the new Crocs Leigh II Ankle Strap Graphic Wedge sandals I had been sent to try out on my day off. Of course, I still had the school run to do but heading off child free to our local shopping centre felt weird. It always does even when Hubby is still there. There’s no one to talk to in the car and there’s absolutely no demands from anybody. I arrived bright and early before the shops opened and went for a wander to figure out exactly what shops I wanted to visit. I bought myself a Costa hot chocolate that I could drink at my own pace without someone trying to pour it over themselves.

I browsed the makeup in Boots. Gosh I didn’t realise just how many different brands they have in the larger stores and I felt completely in my element. I came away with a couple of purchases although I’m pretty sure if my conscience wasn’t screaming at me, I would have spent a small fortune in there as they had the Soap & Glory stand which is one I’ve wanted to buy from for a while now. I then made my way into New Look and was in there for absolutely ages before I found the children’s section and unashamedly fell in love with some bits. I spent nearly £80 in there which never ever happens. The best thing about shopping child free was not having to worry who was pulling something off the shelf, or which daughter was running into people and having to run off after someone mid-decision. I didn’t even have to share my lunch with anyone!

I had a really lovely time and I’m very grateful for the shoes I was sent to enjoy my day off. Despite being wedge heels they felt so incredibly light and like I was walking on a fluffy pillow. But I am also very pleased I was given the push to take the time for myself. Next time I am going to go and get my nails done. Now it’s time for me to hand over the challenge to you…

Crocs is running the #MomDaysOffContest and prizes include: 10 first placed winners will receive £30 voucher for Crocs and £70 cash and 50 runners up who will receive £30 vouchers.
