Organising A Local Blogger Coffee Morning Sevenoaks

I get extremely nervous in any social situation especially when it’s a new one. For me, the parenting scene is dominated by parents that are older than me whether that’s by a few years or by 20. It sometimes feels quite hard to engage with people who have experienced careers, travel and general adult life.

I’ve definitely been pushed out of my comfort zones since becoming a young mum and our move will always be the best thing we did for us. Especially for our social lives. The girls have so many friends and I also have a fabulous group of friends in my life.

A few weeks ago, after seeing it mentioned many times on a local mums group, I decided to set up a Facebook support group for Sevenoaks & Local Bloggers partly to find a group of people close by that could offer each other support but also to make new friends that share the same hobby. It’s still a small group but I was actually quite surprised at how many bloggers there were in this area. There’s even a mum from P1s class.

I decided to push my social ability even further and arrange my first ever coffee morning. I honestly didn’t believe anyone would arrive but there ended up being five of us sitting having a good old matter about our blogs, our families, our backgrounds. It was really lovely and I’m very much looking forward to the next one and hopefully making some new friends that do what I do and understand it.

If you are local to Sevenoaks, a man or a woman who writes a blog and you would love to be part of our growing community then please do head over to the Facebook page. I do ask that you inbox me with your link and location before I can approve your request to join as I want to keep this blog for local bloggers.
