For somebody who didn’t feel very Easter-y this year, we ended up doing quite a few Easter themed activities. Our Easter holidays were pretty much jam filled with different things for us to do and now we are back to school runs. I feel we need another holiday to recover from the Easter holidays if I’m honest. Our Easter weekend was especially fun.
We packed a picnic and headed to Bodiam Castle with my MiL. I hadn’t been before but I really do love a castle. The weather was also kind to us. We spent the morning exploring the castle, climbing many winding staircases that you can barely imagine having to cope with those every day. I think the girls really enjoyed themselves and P1 seemed fascinated by it all. We also took part in the Egg Hunt or in this case we were searching for Dragons. We ate our picnic whilst P3 had a nap and it was honestly such a relaxed day out for once.
P3 went in the car with my MiL on the way back which gave us a pretty chilled journey back to her house. They ended up stopping off briefly so we had a few minutes to kill. I’d received a new travel game from Orchard Toys called Llamas In Pyjamas and I whipped this out to prevent boredom for P1 and P2. The game is suitable for ages 3 to 6 years so this was perfect for my 4 and 8 year old to play together. You start with one Llama bottom and you take it in turns to pick up a card from the pile. The game ends when the Llama in bed picture is completed, then the winner is whoever has matched the most Llamas. It’s simple but it’s a brilliant game and it only costs £4.99!
The rest of our afternoon was packed full of Easter fun. I always say this but my MiL is just brilliant at hosting things like Christmas, Easter and birthdays. Personally I love Easter time at her house. It’s decorated just how I’d love to do our house and she puts on a brilliant Easter hunt for both the kids and adults. We had ham, egg and chips for our dinner and the kids were all pretty well behaved.
We had a really lovely day that was filled with laughing, joking and nearly pushing my daughter down the stairs trying to get first in the adults Easter hunt. My video from our day is below and I really hope you’ll take the time to have a watch, comment and subscribe if you can. I’m thinking of reducing my uploads over there to twice a week to give me some extra time to spend with the girls. I hope you all had a brilliant Easter!
