Recaro Young Expert Plus & Monza Nova 2 Seat Fix Car Seat Review

My hubby has many skills. Car seats are not one of them. He gets in a right tangle with the traditional seatbelt fixing baby carrier so much so that he had an isofix base installed for his car – click and go!

I wrote earlier in the week that we were expecting a car seat delivery from Kiddicare. Well they arrived in speedy fashion and I’ve never seen my hubby’s face light up so much. They arrived and they went out to be fitted within a few minutes.20140107-014313 pm.jpgP2s seat is amazing. We bought the Recaro Isofix base to go with it so installing the Recaro Young Expert Plus Car Seat was a breeze. This seat is also compatible with your usual car seat belt.

I have never known a carseat with so much padding! It’s simple to adjust the straps and also has a recline position, something that not many 9-18kg car seats feature. P2 loves it! She’s awake more in the car and actually loves to watch out the window, this car seat is quite high bringing P2s head height up to the same as her sister.20140107-014936 pm.jpgSeriously how comfortable does she look?! I’m completely amazed by this seat as you can tell… When she sleeps her head doesn’t flop forward like the car seat that P1 had at her age. I have to admit it’s quite a pricey carseat. £165! But it’s totally worth it considering it could, god forbid us having a crash, save P2s life!!20140107-014324 pm.jpgP1s car seat is equally as astounding as P2s. The Recaro Monza Nova 2 Seat Fix is for children 15-35kg and fixes onto an isofix base, something the Kiddicare website fails to mention, and uses the car seat belt as the restraint for the child. It features blow up head cushions and loads of padding just like P2s chair.

Inside the head rest there’s integrated speakers which P1 is really excited about as we’ve recently got them a headrest DVD player for long journeys. P1 loves her new chair, it’s given her independence and responsibility which she loves. She loves to be able to fasten her own belt, with parental supervision obviously, and gets in and out of the car with ease. Again the seat is quite pricey at £160 but it is truly worth every penny.20140107-020140 pm.jpgRecaro are well known for making passenger seats in cars, lorries and even motorsports cars like the formula 1 cars. Recaro also make aircraft seats. With over 100years of experience in the safety of vehicle seats in general, I know I can trust them to keep my girls safe and that’s a wonderful feeling when traveling with both of them in the car.

Although if I had it my way, I would have these in my car not hubby’s and had the pink versions. I guess I’ll have to save to kit my car out with pink ones!

(This post is not in anyway sponsored. We bought the carseats in the Kiddicare sale and have been blown away by them so much that I want to share with my readers)
