I’m thrilled to finally be able to share one of the four hotels we stayed at during our Orlando holiday. We paid for one night ourselves and was then kindly hosted for a further three at Staybridge Suites Orlando at SeaWorld.
I will be writing a day to day account of our entire Orlando adventure so please keep an eye on my blog for as they will be viewable in the following weeks. Also, please head over to my YouTube channel as the video diaries are slowly appearing there too. I’m uploading Monday, Wednesday and Sunday’s at 7pm UK time.
This blog post is a full write up of our stay at the Staybridge Suites Orlando at SeaWorld.
Location
The hotel is roughly twenty minutes from Orlando International Airport. After nine hours of flight travel, a shorter car journey was definitely needed.
Staybridge Suites Orlando is literally opposite SeaWorld and within walkable distance. It’s also within minutes of the theme parks in Orlando including Disney, Universal, Discovery Cove and so much more.
The location is peaceful, however due to the proximity of SeaWorld and the other theme parks you can hear the fireworks around 9pm each night. It’s more of a background noise than anything else.
Official SeaWorld Hotel
Staybridge Suites Orlando offers a free shuttle service to SeaWorld, Disney and Universal. However, this shuttle is run at specific times and must be booked the day before.
As an official SeaWorld hotel, guests can take full advantage of complimentary perks including fast passes at SeaWorld and discounts on food/merchandise. This was fantastic for our family as we happened to visit SeaWorld on memorial weekend and it was busy!
Accommodation
There is free WiFi across the entire hotel which thankfully was a decent speed allowing us to browse and watch some YouTube videos with no issues.
All rooms are suites at Staybridge Suites Orlando. We had the pleasure of staying in a two bedroom suite which sleeps six comfortably.
It’s always exciting going into a hotel room and finding out what it’s like. I was really impressed walking into our suite. The furniture was all quite dark wood and the furnishing were also browns, greens and yellows. Quite earthly. It was surprisingly spacious and definitely not what I’d expected.
The living area, kitchen and dining was all open plan. The kitchen was well equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, cutlery, glassware and dishes, a breakfast tall dining table with chairs and two-burner cooktop. Pretty much a home from home and allowed us to create our own meals in the comfort of our hotel room.
The living area had plenty of seating and a flat screen TV with a great range of channels including Disney Channel – a lovely treat for the girls.
Hubby and I had the master bedroom. It had a huge sized King. We actually ended up having Elsa sleep with us during our stay but there was plenty of space and we all felt comfortable.
Our room had linen provided and a fantastic desk area. There was also a hairdryer and TV in our room. The room was spacious yet the colours made it feel cosy.
Freya, Eva and my Mum were in the second bedroom. It had two Queen beds complete with linen. It was much like our master room with a TV and hair dryer, however it did have the cupboard with the air conditioning machine in.
The air con caused quite a bit of disruption for them. It was so loud, a little like a grumbling airplane taking off. I’m not sure why it was positioned in a bedroom or if possibly it was broken but it was rather annoying for everyone.
Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. They each had bath, hand and face towels provided so I didn’t need to worry about packing our own. There was also loo roll and toiletries supplied. The bathrooms had a shower over the bath and a toilet the sinks were separate.
The en-suite area also had a huge wardrobe and cupboard spaces in the master bedroom which I used to store our suitcases. There was also an ironing board and safe in there too.
Food
I love it when a hotel offers complimentary breakfast, and that’s exactly what Staybridge Suites does. Down in the lobby area is the buffet style restaurant area.
The buffet offers a great selection of foods; pastries, fruit, cereals and various hot options too. The hot options seemed to change each morning but there generally was bacon, sausage meat of some sort and you could also make your own waffle which Freya loved doing!
We all ate really well and made sure we were full and ready for busy days ahead. Even Elsa, who’s the biggest fuss pot ever, managed to fill her tummy.
It’s worth noting that they also did evening social meals I believe but we didn’t actually try them so I can’t make a comment on that.
Other Facilities
There is a Fitness Center at Staybridge Suites Orlando. It’s free to use for hotel guests (you need your room card to enter) and is open 24 hours a day. I actually packed my gym gear with every intention to try out the gym but exhaustion from busy days out took over. I did see a man in there looking very happy with the equipment.
There’s also a large laundry facility for guests. Again we didn’t use it as we only realised it was there as we checked out from our stay. Oops!
Although Staybridge Suites is very close to supermarkets, they have their own little shop offering basic groceries. Candy mainly but some frozen items, milk and juice too. It’s great for a midnight snack as it’s located in the lobby.
Staybridge Suites also have a cute pool onsite. The pool is heated and open 8:30am to 10pm. I love that it has steps into the pool, fantastic for younger swimmers.
Outside there’s picnic tables and bbq grills perfect for the warm Orlando evenings. There’s a business Center area and housekeeping too.
Expedia have a desk there for selling tickets to the theme parks at slightly discounted rate. The shuttle is also bookable there too and they are great for information giving too on the local area.
Overall Thoughts
The only tip or feedback I’d offer is that the tap water tastes pretty bad. It’s just normal Orlando water but we did experience other hotels that have a filtration system to make the water taste a little better.
Overall we had a brilliant hotel experience at Staybridge Suites Orlando at SeaWorld. The staff are friendly and helpful right from check in to check out. The hotel suite was clean. It’s peaceful and everybody slept so well during our stay. I’d highly recommend it.
