Story Time App Review with Not On The High Street Review

Halloween seems to have jumped upon us with not much warning this year. We haven’t got any outfits for the girls to go trick or treating and I’m feeling a little guilty. Luckily came to my rescue when they asked me to download and review their Storytime Sounds app.

It’s free to download from the App Store. The app currently has five storyboards; pirates, fairytales, lost world, space and monsters. With Halloween just around the corner they have launched a special Halloween Storyboard. It’s been designed for children aged 3-7 years to bring a bit of fun to story time.

We’ve been struggling to find time to fit stories into our life since the birth of P3 which is such a shame because I’m a little book worm and P1 and P2 are following in my footsteps. Having the app has really changed our story moments. You can use the storyboards to add some life to your current books or use your imagination to create your own little stories.

To demonstrate the app to P1, I printed off the Halloween story that NOTHS created specifically for this app and we read the story together. P1 pressed the buttons where needed.

P2 enjoyed the app in a completely different way but shows how versatile it is. She’s not even 2 years old yet but thoroughly enjoyed pressing the buttons and hearing all the different sounds.

The Storytime Sounds app has really adapted the way we read stories. They’re fun and exciting. I love making up stories and hearing P1s made up stories too, drawing pictures to create a story then using various sounds to bring her imaginations alive. It’s a great time for family.

(We were asked to review this app as part of our competition entry to win £400 NOTHS vouchers, however the app is free to download. All opinions are of my own)
