We’ve put the icing on top of a cake that’s slowly been created. Sorry, this post isn’t about yummy treats, it’s about P1s education.
We uprooted our family to Sevenoaks nearly 5 months ago to start a complete fresh and better life. The schools are better, the lifestyle is better and the people are nicer. If you’re a loyal reader you’ll know that we’ve had a few issues; bullying on the playground, not eating, children pulling P1s pants down, no supervision with scissors, and most recently the accident to her head. Most of the things could be put down to children being children. Not the head injury, that was a complete misjudgement and foolish mistake made by P1s teachers and I’ve been furious since.
Today topped it off when the school received their Ofsted report – Requires Improvement across the whole of the inspection!!!! There it was in black and white which basically confirmed my fears. It’s not what we had hoped for for P1. It’s not the reason we moved here. We’ve had enough. We want our happy little girl back who enjoyed going to nursery and enjoyed school right at the beginning. We miss our daughter. So the very hard decision has come for us to move her to a different school. I’ve had a horrible butterfly feeling all day.
Will the move just make things worse? Will she make new friends? Will the school be able to cope with her hypermobility issues? Will she hate us for taking her away from her best friend? Is this the right way?
She’s such a bright and clever girl even if I am a little bias. She needed a school that would bring out that wonderful sparkle, not drag her along because they’re incapable of actually seeing her ability to shine (as noted in the report)
I do honestly think we’ve made the right choice and are doing what’s best for P1. That’s all we want at the end of the day. Now we have to buy another set of uniform with the money from the money tree, and I’ll be waking up extra blooming early to walk about 15-20 minutes instead of our current 1-2 minutes!!!!!!!
