I’ve been so excited to share this post with you all and finally I can. A month or so ago we were approached by the Post Office to help raise awareness of Life Insurance. It came at a really important time for our family so I was really interested in taking part.
They wanted me to ask P2 some questions about her future and then they would turn that into an animated video. How exciting right?! Well here is that video. When I saw it I sobbed a little, it’s so cute but also has a really important message too.
We naturally all insure our car, belongings, home, even our phones but why do so many of us not insure our own lives?! Hubby and I were totally guilty of this up until very recently when we began to research Life Insurance for ourselves. It was scary to think of scenarios where we would no longer be in our children’s lives. I know that I had a blasé approach to it, it’ll never happen to me right?
My top reasons to get life insurance as a parent:
- Immediate expenses involved in a death of a parent. Things like the funeral cost, paying for bills and food.
- Care costs. We have picked somebody that we wish to look after the girls in the event of both of our deaths, having Life Insurance will allow them to be in a comfortable financial position to provide and care for our girls so that they can reach their dreams.
- Their future dreams. Things like going to college or university. Having life insurance will give them a fund for their futures.
When I asked P2 about her dreams it made me feel all the warm fuzzy feelings. She’s so innocent. By taking out life insurance for myself for as little as £7 a month, it means that I can have peace of mind that my girls will be able to achieve their dreams. P2 may even get that black cat car she wants and have ten babies.
It was a weird sense of adulting and a huge relief once our life insurance was set up. I felt content knowing that I’m helping to protect my girl’s dreams whatever may come our way. Have you got life insurance? If you haven’t then I’d highly suggest researching it and taking a look here for some inspiration Childs Dreams.
